What actually happens to our t-shirts, once they were used for testing?

Good question! Unfortunately, we can’t reuse the shirts for research purposes, as that would jeopardize comparability. Therefore, we’re happy to donate shirts for good causes. In the past, shirts have gone to the Vorwerker Diakonie in Lübeck, where they were used for artistic projects.

This time, we were able to donate shirts to the inclusive holiday camp “Of Small and Big Things,” which took place at Dreilützow Castle. Here, children and teenager aged 7 to 14 could take part together in creative and exciting activities. Our T-shirts were used for an upcycling project exploring the theme “young and old,” where new garments could be created using colors, beads, and scissors.

Visit of State Secretary Guido Wendt and Member of State Parliament Anette Röttger at the University of Lübeck

Today, Kiel’s State Secretary Guido Wendt (second from right) and Member of State Parliament Anette Röttger (second from left) came to the University of Lübeck and visited our Institute of Medical Psychology (IMP). At the IMP, research is conducted, among other things, on how good communication works: What should future doctors keep in mind so that their patients feel well cared for? The findings then feed into teaching, prevention, and therapy.

Prof. Ulrike Krämer (left), Prof. Sarah Jessen (center), and Vice President Prof. Thomas Münte (right) also presented the individual research areas. At the “Babylab,” for example, researchers study how babies and young children perceive and explore the world around them. For these studies, EEG caps—like the ones shown in the photo—are among the tools used.

Thank you for your visit!
